My experiment has been going well. I’ve been able to learn and write quite a bit in Django and Python.
Chris and I placed fourth in the DjangoDash a couple of weeks ago. Needless to say, that’s a nice boost to the old confidence (especially with another rejection coming this morning). The code part of the site for our partnership is almost complete, just a few more things to do on the blog app, then re-use bits of that for the portfolio section, pop in a contact area, and then we’re done. Feels nice to be back in the world of real web programming to produce really neat sites/apps. Chris came up with a good idea for another site this past week, too. He’s turning into quite the idea guy.
Father’s Day was nice. The day before, we went to Chris’ parent’s house to enjoy their pool. It is an awesome pool. I drooled, I won’t lie. At some point this past weekend, we had some great Thai food from Archi’s. I got a shirt from my parents along with a card, and a great card from Elaine and Joe (it has a pun!). It was a nice weekend all around.
Time to get back to code.
