Tired Much?
September 22
I know, I know. I haven’t written in quite awhile. Oh well, I don’t care. I don’t have a good reason and I don’t care to invent one. 10 days isn’t that long. Anyway, here’s what’s going on.
Nothing.
Well, not really nothing. Just nothing of any great interest. Elaine and I are still working on her site, which just needs a few layout tweaks and it’ll be finished. As for my redesign, I’m rethinking the menu and a few other elements, and then it’ll be finished. I’d also love to be able to get sIFR to work, but that seems nigh impossible with Textpattern. Granted, I haven’t tried the newest version yet, but I’m not expecting any miracles.
Hopefully I’ll have a few big announcements about Gigantuan in the next week or so, but no promises there, as usual. I’m really starting to get frustrated with not having that up and running. It’s what I want to do with my life and it seems I keep getting bogged down in pointless stuff like artwork. I mean, I know the identity of the company is über-important, but I can’t help but think work is more important, especially at this point in the company’s life.
Manny is still in Europe (his travel blog. It’s funny how much I used to talk to him on AIM. Now I’m stuck talking to Ray and some other people. Manny needs to hurry back!
No. Don’t get me wrong, Ray’s a great guy to talk to. I’ve met a lot of awesome people off the Textpattern forums and I don’t mind talking to any of them. Manny was just fun to harrass about all sorts of stuff. Maybe I should just start picking on Ray and Damelon more. Yeah, that’s what I’ll do.
I think I’ve mentioned enough people in this post, don’t you? :)
Well, Elaine’s mom and brother got back from California this past week. They went out to visit her half-sister and half-brother and their dad. Her mom brought back some great pictures and stories. We can’t wait to get to go see everyone. Man, I wish we could travel more.
Poly and Finnegan haven’t had anything new or exciting happen to them, except that Poly has been killing things…or at least finding dead things. Elaine said she brought a mole or vole up to her this morning. I really hope she’s just finding dead things and not killing them herself. I don’t want a murdering dog.
In Linux news, I’ve installed GNOME and used it for a week or two, but it’s just too constricting compared to KDE. I think I’ve tried almost every popular enviroment/manager on Linux and so far nothing beats KDE. The others are just too hard to configure, too restricting, or just full of pointless features. Oh well, I’m pretty happy with KDE, so I’ll just stick to it.
Wow, I can’t really think of anything else to blather on about. Oh, if you haven’t read any of this serial novel that Max has linked a few times, you need to. It’s freaking awesome. So far I’ve read books one and two and I can’t wait to get into book three. The storyline is actually pretty original (not the easiest thing to do with zombies) and has enough twists and turns to keep me reading. So, go check it out now, since this post is finished.
STUCK talking to me, eh? :) Don’t mind talking to me? Yeah, I see how it is… I’m filler. “I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and dog-gone, people like me!” No, I’m just kidding ya.
I understand how it is to not have one of your best friends around. I had a best friend that moved away for good and it was hard for a while right after he left. I hung out with him all the time. We played basketball and tennis together, competed against each other in Twisted Metal on Playstation, just hung out, and on occasion even dreamed of “Hey, maybe one day we’ll have steady girlfriends!” Ah… Good times.
So if it will make you feel better to pick on me, feel free! Oh, and have you ever thought of adding some kind of comment system for the MP3 of the week? It would be nice for those that have listened to them to be able to write back about how they liked/disliked the week’s feature. “Please Call Me, Baby” is a good song by the way.

No, you’re not filler, Ray (nor ‘filly,’ which i almost typed). It’s just odd how, as soon as Manny jets off to Europe, I spend like 3 hours on AIM talking to you. Oh well, good conversations can’t be beat.
And, yes, there will be a comment feature for MP3s in the upcoming redesign. Along with comments on Links and a better photoblog system, which will also, hopefully, have comments. Gee, comments are gonna be everywhere!

It’s funny – right about this time for the past couple of years, everyone’s blog has the obligatory “I’m busy, pardon me for not updating” post! Ah, what a great time of the year, and nobody wants to be indoors!

Hey, the new design is live! I likes!
Ray on September 29, 2004 at 9:25 am
Yeah I do, too! Very cool look.
One day when things calm down, maybe I too will get to redesign… One day…
Jeff Clark on September 29, 2004 at 10:28 am
Well, I’m glad you both like it. Hopefully you like what comes next, too.
