Cough, Cough, Heave, Sick
July 19
Yeah, I’ve been sick again. For the last several days, I’ve woken up very sick to my stomach. I won’t go into the details, but it’s usually quite some time before I can leave the bathroom far behind. I’m also having muscle cramps and hot/cold flashes. If I sleep for about half the day, I come out alright at night, but that destroys any chance of work or productivity. Well, not exactly, but it makes going to work hard. I’m doing my best to get in there tomorrow, since this Thursday is supposed to be deadline.
Speaking of work, I think I’ve just about finished the Textpattern version of the site for work. All that’s left are a few CSS bugs, a few plugins/tweaks, and figuring out why individual articles won’t show. Oh well, no biggies…’scept that last one. I’ll get it sorted out, though.
On the personal side of work, Manny and I have finished our first work ticket with Henry and I think he’s pleased with the results. It’s nice getting to do work for someone else for a change, instead of for me or for work-work. I hope we get to work for Henry some more and that other people will hire us soon.
Actuallly, I’m going to a seminar next week over getting money from the government for starting a new business, so maybe Gigantuan will have some funding behind it soon. I can only hope.
In home news, Elaine and I have been watching quite a few movies lately. We watched Cold Mountain the other day. I liked it a bit more than she did, I think, but we were both pretty pleased with it. If you haven’t seen it, give it a shot. We also watched Them! which is a great old horror/sci-fi movie about giant ants under Los Angeles. I finished reading By the Light of the Moon and, apparently on a Dean Koontz kick, started reading The Bad Place. I’m not very far into it, but it’s starting to get good. I’ll tell more about it when I’m farther. I’m still reading The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy to Elaine. We’re on the second book, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe. Such a great read.
Before I leave you, I just want to give a congratulations to Manny for making it into the Art Institute of Atlanta and making it through his first week. The internet needs more intelligent, conscientious designers!
Hey Kenneth,
Thank you for your business and help. I hope that Gigatuan does sky rocket in the few months to come. I love to hire you guys for a few things, but I think if I want to make it in the long run, I probably need to dwell really deep in web design on my own.
Best of luck for your speedy recovery, the world just isn’t the same without Kenneth Love saving the day on the Internet.

Thanks for the nice words, Henry. I went to the doctor today, got some pills, and Elaine and I are going to meditate tonight and so some other Sahaja Yoga stuff to try and get me over this.
And I haven’t completely dropped off the face of the Internet. I’ve been limping through the Textpattern forums and working on some stuff for work-work; I’m getting by.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. I’m feeling a lot better. Thursday/Friday being deadline didn’t help, but I got plenty of sleep last night, and the pills are helping.
