Well, another redesign is under the belt. I should have gotten a screenshot of the old one….Oh well, it wouldn’t be that hard to reproduce it or something. I’m joining the low-contrast fad and I’m happy to do it. No, I really like this redesign and, yes, I’m going to stick with it for more than a month. I’m thinking of adding a calendar to the side, though, so it may go under a few changes. And, of course, I haven’t finished the about, resume, or portfolio pages yet. They’ll come along soon enough, though.

So, I’ve been bad, lately, and started buying things on Ebay. I got a complete, sealed, still-has-the-store’s-sticker-on-it boxed set of Gasaraki and a new, sealed copy of Tenchu: Return From Darkness. Tenchu hasn’t arrived yet, though. Should be here on Wednesday or Thursday. Then it’ll be all ninja action, all the time.

This weekend was fun. John came down to Virginia’s house for an Asian festival in Tulsa. It wasn’t that awesome of a festival, but it had a few nifty moments. The president of the local Asian or Indian organization looked like Michael Jackson (when he was still Michael Jackson) in an admiral’s uniform. I know it’s a traditional suit or whatever, but it’s still funny. He also didn’t understand how the mic worked, so he got closer to it the louder he talked. So, what started off as “We’re very glad you’ve come out today…” ended up as “We’re very glad you’ve COME OUT TOOOFERFEAFEHFEFEA!!!!” and everyone just smiled and nodded. He also had the fun habit of yelling “Woo!” at the children showing off traditional dances. He made the day fun. I hope John got me a video clip of him.

Anyway, after the festival we had Thai food and then went to watch Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Great movie. Best one yet. Stays really true to the book and only leaves out a few important bits. I won’t go into any detail in case you haven’t seen the movie yet. And, if you haven’t, by golly, go watch it! It was great. After the movie, we hit Fuddrucker’s for some dinner and then we went home.

John and I spent an inordinant amount of time this weekend playing Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. So much, in fact, that the game sort of lost meaning and just became a reason to yell and blow up cops. My personal goal was to get all the stars lit up (my best was 4 without any real weapons or tactics). I think John just wanted to destroy as much of the city as he could. Either way, it’s a great game and we had a lot of fun playing it.

After all of that goodness, Elaine and I came home and went to bed. Yesterday (Monday) and today have been full of work and stuff, so nothing really great to tell there.

Oh, I forgot about my dentist stuff. I haven’t had any real dental visits in the past…oh…five or six years (I don’t wanna hear it! I just didn’t ever go ’cause I don’t really care for dentists). Well, my back teeth were bothering me a little bit, so Elaine got me an appointment with her dentist. I went on Thursday for an examination. They did the full head X-ray and found that, aside from having no cavities (it would have broken my 23-year record), I have some very odd wisdom teeth. The top two are impacted and need to come out; the bottom left one is in all the way and doing nothing wrong, except that it doesn’t touch the top tooth very much (as that wisdom tooth isn’t in); the bottom right, though, is turned on it’s side with the top of it pointing at my other teeth. It’s also sitting right on top of the nerve so taking it out could cause problems like paralysis.

Well, I happened to get a cleaning scheduled for the next day (Friday) and that was a lot of fun. I had nitrous oxide and topical anesthetic, so I didn’t feel anything and the one-and-a-half hours went by in thirty minutes. I go back again this Friday for a final cleaning, then I’m good for another six months or so, except for the surgery.

Well, I think that covers everything. I actually have a bit of work to do, so I think I’ll get it done and then head home.

Sorry for the inconsitency of the pages right now. In fact, this front page is the only one I’d trust if I were you. I’ll have them all working before too long, though, so just hold still. Thanks for your patience.

OK. Most of the pages are updated and running now. Nothing shows on the links page, and the portfolio just shows the same as the front page…also, the resume isn’t formatted perfectly and the about page is not anywhere near complete…but they all show the new format. Please check around and let me know if anything breaks in your browser. I haven’t had much time to test this one yet (just Firefox on Linux and IE on MacOS9). Again, thanks for your patience.

Oh, and I’m running Textpattern version 1.19 now! w00t!
